If the song sounds cool, you should like it, and it shouldn't really matter how complex it is or how hard it was to make. Do you not like it because of how simple it is or because you don't like the song itself? There are other times when I would agree with you, but you shouldn't decide what to like completely based on the complexity of it.

You heard of it?" and I go and check out and it's 3 chords over and over, I just want to barf. Maybe it's just that my taste in music is very particular, and I like to listen to the skill of instrumentalists like Geddy Lee and John Bonham, etc. So when I listen to bands like Rush and Zepplin and then I listen to a song with 3 chords that's "the best song ever", it just doesn't fly.

Jan 9, 2009 - whether a song is considered great or not is a matter of opinion on what makes a song great. nobody is going to win the discussion lol. songs are usually considered great based on either lyrics, instruments, or vocals. put all three together you have a great song of course. take bob dylan. considered one of the greatest musicians of all time. that is primary based on his lyrics, not the difficulty of playing the songs. it's just all matter of opinion.
