Oct 23, 2008 - Definately! I never thought Curtis got his just due. In my opinion, every bit as good, if not better than Marvin Gaye or Al Green.

Nov 3, 2008 - It makes me sad this video only has 200,000 views and bullshit Lil' Wayne remixes have like 10 million views. Oh well... I love you, Curtis.
FredGuadalupe Says:
Nov 4, 2008 - He, Willie Hutch, and Donny Hathaway are easily the greatest and most under appreciated soul men music has ever seen. They are all dearly missed.
FredGuadalupe Says:
Nov 4, 2008 - I agree 100% - When I started out playing I was so into Hendrix. And while he raised guitar playing to a new level, Curtis heavily influenced his style. But something I picked up from Curtis is the way he plays with his fingers. It gives the chords a richer, deeper tone that you lose when playing with a pick. Very great video!!

Nov 5, 2008 - you forgot to mention me.

Nov 8, 2008 - You have to consider the kind of crowd that lil wayne attracts. His crowd is of a younger generation and they are more youtube oriented. If Mayfield came along during the current period, game over lol.
rjam1974 Says:
Nov 8, 2008 - You may not agree with this but Mayfield was more militant in message and that may have played a role in in. Also Gaye and Green had that sex appeal more so than Mayfield. In terms of voice sound, Mayfield has the more sensual voice. Too smooth to even comprehend

Nov 12, 2008 - This song could have been played for this years election, and you would have never known it was done in the 70's....it's about as true and timely as a Marvin Gaye cut. Excellent.
sct30 Says:
Nov 12, 2008 - this song is simply billiant. the lyrics, voals, melody just hit it right. I would imply that u were an alright guy.
pooflanger Says:
Nov 13, 2008 - that's true dude, i've never thought about it that way
rjam1974 Says:
Nov 13, 2008 - Fans of Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Jons hours on youtube. I am willing to be all the acts just mentioned get more hits than Mayfield and EWF but how many songs of theirs can touch EWFs and Mayfields? The majority of fans that grew up and listened to the legends didnt grow up with the youtube's and net so alot of internet stats are very skewed.

Sep 19, 2008 - This man is awesome! I LOVE this cut. It's smooth and mellow and the chord changes are just infectious. That guitar and the that deep, rich bass gives this song a melody that strikes the soul. Mayfield was a genius. May he rest in peace. His band was tight.
