Dec 12, 2008 - wow i'll take your word for it as i wasn't up north for larry. but i was there for this one and believe me i haven't seen anything like it b4!

Dec 12, 2008 - Most of the houses that lost their roofs were in the older parts of The Gap (like Weemala etc) and those houses were built in the 1950's to 1970s) in those days houses were built well and not short cut like they sometimes do today. I dont think any of them would be $1m houses, just nice ordinary houses built to last... till you get something like this. Our ordinary 1970's brick and tile survived but we were just lucky!

Dec 12, 2008 - 2:05. We're not going to be laughing if the house blows over!! PRICELESS!!!! To think I've moving from the UK to Brissy next year too :)

Dec 13, 2008 - Same here. Priceless comment from that pair of likable clowns. I live just a few Kms away in New Farm, and we didn't even have strong winds. Just heavy rain. This suggests something narrowly focused like a tornado in strength.
philjquitt Says:
Dec 13, 2008 - Agree. Cyclones are big systems. This was a small system, highly focused, like a tornado. Tornadoes are more powerful than cyclones. I loved seeing the Baron Falls in full flood during a cyclone - majestic but not mean.

Dec 17, 2008 - damn those winds were around 180km/h.

Dec 22, 2008 - That was awesome footage, well done to capture the storm like that.I'm at Everton Hills which aint that far away, but we didnt get the ferocity of the wind quite like that. The place was a mess though.

Dec 30, 2008 - Some of the most incredible footage I've ever seen. Thanks for posting.

Dec 30, 2008 - In a real cyclone what we see from 1.46 minutes into this video goes on for hours, not just a few minutes, with winds easily in excess of 200 km/h and the possibility of embedded tornados. This is pretty cool footage and I'm glad there was no damage to the house. Storms of this magnitude are only fun for a little while and as long as nobody gets hurt. This goes to show that when mama nature chucks a hissy fit it's time to duck and take cover.

Dec 31, 2008 - This clip of all wins the Golden Globe of capturing what no news channel ever showed to the viewers in Australia of this event. Shocking and frightening to the extremem and yet ... only in Australia would there be a running commentary which includes laughter!!! Good on you lot for the posting!

Jan 6, 2009 - Great footage but it wasn't a cyclone. We haven't had a cyclone pass through Brisbane for many a year. This was the equivalent of a tornado BUT was not a tornado either.
FireFlames012 Says:
Jan 6, 2009 - looked SPECTACULAR on the radar!!
