Its his own style, his signature sound all over hiss riffs and solos, not repetition. And todays shredders are crap! If you havent noticed, all of those shredders you refer to sound strikingly similar to one another. Who does slash sound like? Nobody! He is 100% original. All those shredders only know one technique, and music isnt all about how fast you can play. you dont now about that.

What makes people be able to recognise his playing over other guitarists is his tone rather. Impressive guitarist nonetheless, but doesn't deserve the immense attention that he gets.
