If you follow the split timeline theory, the adult timeline is only WW and PH (so far), all the other games (exept Minish Cap, according to some people) occur in the child timeline. If you ask me, there SHOULD be a direct sequel to TP; Ganondorf didn't get banned into some realm. We didn't see that, at least.

Basically the child timeline is the one with the hero of time but without it's legend, the adult timeline is without the hero of time but with his legend.
