Sep 17, 2008 - whatever happened to the ones like charmander and squirtle and bulbasaur? from when i was growing up with the original pokemon, I played SSBB and i asked who this guy was, everyone said he was a pokemon, i was in disbeleif, the original 251 pokemon were the best, after that they went downhill, able to talk and whatnot. i miss playing the original gameboy game, trying to hard to catch mewtwo because i had foolishly used my master ball on a weedle to test and make sure the catch rate was 100% :(

Sep 21, 2008 - I have a similar experience with pokemon as you. Nothing can beat the original 151. But they had to increase the number of pokemon to keep the game and related product sales up. I just turned 18 and I'm not ashamed to say that I still play pokemon. I play Leafgreen version (remake of the original red and blue for the gameboy advance) and Diamond. You don't have to "miss" the original version. Star Wars fans had to deal with (horrible) prequels, but they still enjoy the original movies.
