Dec 13, 2008 - Take this into context from someone who has lived in Southern California for 50 years: 29 Palms is NOT 1/2 way between LA and Vegas, a little town called Baker, site of the worlds tallest thermometer (134 feet high, equaling the hottest temp ever recorded in Death Valley) is 1/2 way between LA and Vegas. 15 is the only way out of Vegas via freeway, but it will take you nowhere near 29 Palms. You would have to make your way down to Old Woman Springs Road from the 15, get to the 62, then to 29,OK?
