Nov 26, 2008 - Sorry, Taildragger51 is correct. Rory's liver was damaged by long-term use of prescribed medication. According to his brother he was NOT the heavy drinker he was rumoured to be. In fact he was careful to avoid the excesses indulged in by many of his peers. Rory's death was a tragedy, but to me the way in which the memory of such a rare combination of talent and good sense is being warped by rumour,speculation and gossip is a far worse tragedy. He is being robbed of his personality and humanity.
