I took this video from the dash of the car. It's a short trip around a few streets in the downtown/central area of St. John's. We got over 40cm of snow on Feb 19/20, and some of the city's streets never saw a snowplow until late into the evening. Those that did see a plow were often down to a single lane of traffic. Drifting also caused some problems. So here it is... a drive through (and almost getting stuck) in St. John's. (It's never good when the snow is too deep for the ground clearance of your vehicle)

Oct 21, 2007 - What a cool video--thanks for that! I've decided (just about 30 minutes ago) that I'm going to St. John's in a couple of weeks. Is there snow in mid-November?? I looove snow!
Chuck2k6 Says:
Oct 21, 2007 - Probably no snow in November... or at least not much of it. We get most of our snow from December/January until... I'll say April.

Nov 17, 2007 - you should do the same drive before the snow falls to give a sense of how much it is.

Dec 17, 2007 - The snow is the white stuff piled up on the side of the roads. Look at it in comparison to the houses...that should give you an idea.
blurrybigfoot74 Says:
Dec 17, 2007 - I know how high the snow gets, I live on those streets. I'm thinking that a summer drive would give people an idea of how much snow is actually here, too late now though, snow is down already.
neilmassey Says:
Dec 17, 2007 - I know...and we are gonna be stuck with the white stuff for awhile..
