Dec 30, 2008 - Yes you are correct that the parent would indeed be to blame for their child's learning of negative bahaviors. And laughter is also a necessity, but you are missing my point; children emulate the thing they find most interesting, whether it be mom, dad, or the cookie monster. How many children around the world have been affected by Pokemon? Of those, do you or do you not see plenty of those kids act out the roles of their favorite character? The little influences add up quite greatly.

Dec 30, 2008 - Poor parenting is to blame for poor diet, it is only a puppet. I grew up with Cookie Monster, as did we all, and I don't stuff my face with cookies... that would be like me blaming society had I gone to jail. Ridiculous, my parents raised me right.

Jan 2, 2009 - i see your point , but , a kids show will not determine a person's personality in their years to come. most parents do their very best in raising their kids , but at a certain point in their life they'll start making their own choices. i'm not saying it's good to speak like the cookie monster , but it sure is funny. and if you follow Sesame St. , there's always a lesson before a cookie. Roots of living , the way we work first , then get paid. like the Cookie Monster.

Jan 3, 2009 - True! I grew up watching Sesame Street and learned how to read, count and speak. Even if I spoke improperly at first, there're my parents and teachers to correct me. It's especially useful in my dumb fascist country where the official language is NOT English! All the books in school (except for English itself) is in the country's official language. I have a 2.5-year-old nephew who could now speak full English sentences instead of random words just from watching Sesame Street!
