Dec 27, 2008 - Because when you tax the rich more, thats a profit loss, they just roll it over onto you and I the consumer increasing the prices on their goods and services, which they inevitably have to do in order to sompete in a freemarket economy and stay in business, especially when youre a small business. Larger companies like walmart will just take their business elsewhere. Also they end up downsizing their company and firing their employees so they can meet their profit margins and stay in business.

Under bill clinton, every social class prospered, including the rich, who made much more money in the stock market than they lost in taxes, but when Bush lowered their taxes, they may have been happy at first, but soon they began losing money. The Bush tax cuts need to be repealed. Every social class will benefit.

Secondly a statistic in this video states that the top 10% of taxpayers pay 70% of all income taxes.. considering that they 'earn' >95%of all income would you admit that the top 10% are UNDER-taxed? I'm not a socialist and I agree hard work should be rewarded, so let's not forget the millions of people who work their butts off for minimum wage so the CEOs can get their 7 figure bonuses.

Jan 3, 2009 - If I earn $1 and the other guy earns $100. Then we should be taxed at the same rate. A certain %/$. Your argument of someone getting more of the dollars is akin to "They can afford to pay more." As it is, the higher earners pay a greater % of tax than the lower. If everyone was paying the same tax as the lower and income was "evenly" distributed, then you would have to say the lower earners are actually undertaxed. So no! The rich are not undertaxed.
