Aug 11, 2008 - The vid is 10 min because it's a tutorial going slowly through all steps. If he skipped explaining and all that and just did it it wouldn't take more than 5-10 sec. (+ he had to put the picture in, which doesn't count towards what he referred to as "removing the background". :] )

Sep 1, 2008 - If you have a complex photo and you don't need to wrap text around a shape then I would use Photoshop. Depending on the photo you might be able to use the background eraser tool. If that doesn't get the desired result I would use a layer mask and do it manually. This way at least you can fix a spot at any time if you make a mistake.
