May 7, 2007 - Dido to what eight7000 said! I have major problems with my forwards and reverses... I just go too far from the board (due to a head injury because of not going so high from a 5331D). I'll hopefully be over at Bloomington... so I'm X-ing my fingers for that and diving as well.

Jul 14, 2007 - That helps a lot because my approach isn't that great -- I don't get enough height. Now I think it's because my arms don't reach 12 O'clock I usually stop around 10. It makes a huge difference.

Nov 9, 2007 - Great lesson! I put everything in practice the last week, and it works great, in particular the idea of reaching the 12 o'clock position when the board is at the bottom of the swing. I used to raise my arms with the upswing of the board, which is not so good. I am looking forward to a lesson on the inward dives, perhaps something on the twist. Thanks!

Nov 13, 2007 - That helped a lot, I always used to bring my arms to the 12 position as I extended my legs, and I always had to cut it short to throw my dive. This will probably let me get a lot more height. Thnx!

Jan 8, 2008 - was that double bounce, i dont have sound on my comp so i cant really hear anything, but i use the arm swing technique on my hurdle, but iam ganna try that, it looks pretty cool

Jan 30, 2008 - when you have you head up when you are about to go off the board, will that helpyou to keep you dive in and not so far out? that is my problem with my dives. i tend to go out to far.
IleikSuperpie Says:
Jan 31, 2008 - jump up and dont lean on ur take off
Jgreene014 Says:
Jan 31, 2008 - if your doing a gainer, make sure you don't let your hips slide out or leave your arms short in your reach. If your doing a front make sure to keep your chest up in your hurdle and your head still. Always try and jump up as high as you can, don't be afraid and jump away from the board, it will do that it's self. Let the board do the work, just pay attention to technique

Apr 10, 2008 - A basic question. What is the usual approach for a right hander? Is it the one shown? Which leg do you hurdle off?
sjopostit91 Says:
Jul 12, 2008 - you hurdle off your left leg if you're right handed, however I hurdle off my right leg even tho Im a righty so its pretty much whatever feels most comfortable for you great lesson btw
