Dec 18, 2008 - I think Hiromi is extraordinary. However, music is music. Nothing is grabage. That's what makes it beautiful. I don't listen to rap or pop, but, music is a gift to enter into a totally different realm. You can't say any one is greater than the other. Because, Hiromi can't do what "Snoop" does and the other way 'round. In her genre she's a master, but so is a famous pop singer in their genre. Music is a universal language, not a competition.

Dec 18, 2008 - Jessica Simpson's Christmas songs are garbage, the cover of "Happy Christmas" by The Used is worse than garbage. Nickelback is garbage. There are extremes in music, and that includes extremely bad. Songs further in the middle are up to preference and debate, the songs and performers I mentioned are among those that are not.

Dec 18, 2008 - A bit like a Japanese version of Squarepusher, (though far less chaotic) nice.

Dec 18, 2008 - See, that's the thing. It's your opinion that some music is garbage. Honestly I only know 1 of the artists you named. But, besides that, someone else may find that source of music a gateway to inner peace. I'm no hippie but, you know what I mean. So who are you to say that the music they produce is garbage. Who are you to deprive listeners of their joy? Although their are extremes in music. I admit that. But, no ones music is garbage. That's harsh.
jido35 Says:
Dec 18, 2008 - "*Although there* are extremes in music." Sorry the wrong usage of "there" and "their" was irritating me.

Dec 20, 2008 - jido that means you dont understand the concept of real music and the meaning of music yes theres all genre of it but just because you hear something on the radio dosent makes it automatically real music or good or someone a real true artist everyone is inspired in there own way and believe me im quiet sure if she wanted to play a snoop song she could lol theres a difference in real music true talent in various forms but everything you hear dosent mean it good or makes someone an artist!
shuyuki12 Says:
Dec 20, 2008 - and for you to say no one music is garbage that a whole lot of (bullshit)excuse the language but what makes you think every tune every sound every written piece and every word makes it good lol in your head thats what you believe but in reality theres a big difference in good music and horrible music it just is everything that is produce is not wonderful and just cause someone can make a hit or play a note dosent make them a real true artist every one is not gifted with the talent everyone was
shuyuki12 Says:
Dec 20, 2008 - not born to play the piano or guitar or whatever instrument god didnt make everyone musical genuis or blessed everyone with voices thats could sing sorry but thats reallity every person is gifted differently and just cause you see a person there moving side to side or can sing a little on tune dosent make them automatically talented or a great singer thats or someone that plays a note dosent that dosent make that person a musical genuis theres a big difference in real true talent a real artist!
shuyuki12 Says:

Dec 23, 2008 - I take it no one knows how to play this? She's amazing, yes, but she needs to create sheet music! =]
jfugelso Says:
Dec 24, 2008 - That's the cool thing about art. Two different people can look at one piece and one of them can say it's crap and the other can say it's brilliant and neither of them are wrong. It's all about perception. Just because you think it's bad doesn't mean that it is necessarily bad to another person.
Viohead Says:
Dec 24, 2008 - Im working on a guitar pro tab, which is basically a collation of a few melodies from the spiral album, and there's a couple of riffs from this=) ill keep you informed, chances are, itll end up on ultimate guitar sometime soon

Dec 24, 2008 - Or good, but i get what you're saying.

Dec 31, 2008 - shuyuki, ur comments left me to wonder what is the standard of difference between good music and garbage music? Since you said there is a big difference in real talent. How do you measure the difference?? If you don't mind, try using fullstops.. or commas at least. hehe.

Jan 6, 2009 - The listener listens, a unique role in contributing to the performance of the music. The audience is just another aspect of the music, and they too can be conducted. ;) It's all up to the musicians and what they are trying to accomplish by playing a song.
pagowabass Says:
Jan 7, 2009 - Who can tell me, or at least give me a good idea of, what pedal/effect tony grey uses for the synth bass section starting @ 6:40 and how he gets such a good sound out of it (besides being a great bass player who is 'mindful of how he plays his instrument' )...?
