If it is from your heart it is art. I am a musician for many years, I have been playing in the band and teaching people of Lao music, both tradition and modern Lao Songs. I am very happy to see and listen to the people around the world sing our Laotain tradition song. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, Applause!!!

Oct 15, 2008 - this is the lao, thai and shan ancestors. this is where you tai language comes from.
b4437 Says:
Oct 15, 2008 - she is tai, just like you fool. that is your ancestor and the lao language you speak of is Tai or Dai language.
kojpuasncokuv Says:
Oct 15, 2008 - You are rite. To me I think Thailand is really Tailand. Thai is just how some people pronounce tai. For example Tai dum some people would say Thai dum.
kojpuasncokuv Says:
Oct 15, 2008 - may be you are not lao speaker....lao understand thai...why can't thai understand lao?
kojpuasncokuv Says:
Oct 15, 2008 - this is tai lue language that is similar to lao language.
fckr48 Says:
Oct 16, 2008 - thank you for your opinion and kind understanding. cheers, kojpuasncokv.
LoogKaoNeo Says:
Oct 17, 2008 - Well to be more specific tai lue (lue meaning north) are tai lao from the lan xang period. This song is from that period. Dok champa is a lao flower, thai don't called it dok champa unless of course if they are lao descendent.
LoogKaoNeo Says:
Oct 18, 2008 - yeah I was thinking the same. Nanchao kingdom took Chengdu (original Chiang?)from the chinese, and push further down to found Chiang Mai? and khmer was called Chengla (collapsing kingdom) It would explain why most of the cities in the Lan Xang kingdom had Chiang in it's name.
LoogKaoNeo Says:
Oct 18, 2008 - sipsongpanna was part of Lan Xang. Tai lue is tai north. tai lue and tai lao are the same people. We just got separated that's all. Tai sukhothai use to speak the same dialect as lan xang too before tai Bangkok(chinese influence) dialect became the modern language of Thailand.
LoogKaoNeo Says:
Oct 18, 2008 - it's because this song is a lan xang song. Dok champa is a tai lao name for that flower not a tai Bangkok name for it, they have a different name for this flower. Champa was a former kingdom East of the Khmer before it became Vietnam. That's where the name for Champasack and dok champa.
kojpuasncokuv Says:
Oct 19, 2008 - thanks for your comment.
LoogKaoNeo Says:
Oct 23, 2008 - woah!!! People don't jump to conclusion. Lao language didnot come from tai!!! Lao language came from ai as in ai lao, which was way before the name tai even existed. Mind you ai and tai and the same people. Ai means people and tai means free people because we were free from the chinese. Ai lao kingdom was annexed to the Han Dynasty and expanded south and founded Nanjiang (land elephant) which was later changed to Lanjiang(million elephant)either by Jao Fa Ngum or Tai Siam.
LoogKaoNeo Says:
Oct 23, 2008 - Nanjao (land king(s))was the result of our independence from the chinese, which started the many tai kingdoms, however ai lao Nanjiang had existed prior to this that is why we still call ourselves lao as in ai lao and not tai. Jao Fa Ngum was a prince from Nanjiang. Sukotai was originally Sukoai in ai lao language literally means (your guys first children of ai) su = you guys, ko = first child even in the ai lao language today. ka tai = price of freedom, is an example why tai means free ai.
LoogKaoNeo Says:
Oct 23, 2008 - Ai Lao Fu Shan (people sun(star) mountain land). That is why lao and shan have similar flag with white circle (sun) before the pathet-lao and vietminh communist hijack the flag and call it doun (moon)because viet don't know it's origin. Before Nanjao (Han Dynasty), ai lao came down from the mountain founded a kingdom with a capital name Nong Sai (chinese nongsair)during the first chinese Qin Dynasty. I will post a concise history of Ai Lao Fu Shan. It should be called Ai-Taikadai language.
